For some reason, I was awake at three am yesterday morning. I wanted to write a post but the internet was not working. I hate it when that happens. My head is all full of ideas and I can’t get on my blog to write.
Over the weekend, I got quite a lot done with the siding on the garage. It’s pretty difficult for me to manage the 16-foot pieces of metal. Unfortunately, the fellas that were supposed to be helping me wasted a lot of metal, so I used the scrap pieces. I felt like a monkey the number of times I climbed up and down the scaffolding. Climb up and measure, climb down and cut a piece of metal, climb back up and place the sheet.
The wind is blowing today, so no work on the garage. The metal sheeting is dangerous enough without the wind. I cut myself several times. Yikes!
I really hate cutting the metal sheeting with the circular saw. Little bits of metal fly off and hit you while you’re trying to cut a straight line. It hurts.
My Ryobi impact drill/driver has been awesome. The driver is light and easy for me to hold. I knocked it off the scaffolding and it was fine.
My little chicks are now hens. They are now running around the pasture with the rest of the critters. They still run right back into their coop when they feel scared though. My goats are dingbats. They try to climb into the little hen’s coop area and eat any scraps of grain that are left over. Aggravating, to say the least.
I finally had to take the eggs that were under the mama duck and throw them out. She had been sitting on the nest for at least two months. The eggs had been there too long. We got about four baby ducks from all those eggs, but none of them survived. It made me feel sad.
I’ve collected some wooden pallets for projects around the ranch. Heaven only knows what I’ll find to make out of pallets. There’s always an idea flapping around in my brain.
