Sometimes you just have to do it your “damn” self. The fellas that were supposed to be putting up the metal siding on the outside of the garage, have flaked out. I fired them.
I am now putting up the metal siding on the outside of the garage myself. I have watched multiple YouTube videos. The hard part of the siding is not measuring, cutting or matching pieces. It is getting it up onto the wall and holding it in place while the screws are put in the right place.
First I put on the trim pieces around the garage doors. The trim goes inside and outside of the frame.
Next is to place the J-channel around the edge.
Then the metal siding goes on one piece at a time. Talk about some “Jethro Engineering”! It’s a good thing I’m clever when it comes to figuring out how to get things done alone.
I will install the siding from the bottom up. Each piece of metal has to overlap the piece below it for water run off. The J-channel has to be installed around the window as well.
I get frustrated because it seems like nothing is getting done. But each little step is a step closer to finishing. A big project.
