Have you all every been to the Craftsy website? Craftsy offers every type of creative outlet you can think of from sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, drawing, paper crafts, cake decorating, photography, vinyl crafting, and much more.
When I purchased my new Silhouette Cameo 2, I had no idea what to do with that machine. I knew that it could help me create many beautiful crafts but I didn’t have a clue. On the Craftsy site, I found a Lori Whitlock video tutorial “Next Steps In Silhouette Studio”. I learned so much from that tutorial about how to get started with my new Silhouette Cameo. There are six lessons starting with “Introduction to File types”, “How to use Fill Patterns and Tracing”, “Multiple Elements”, “Drawing Tools”, “Editing Tools”, and “Fonts and Specialty Materials”. Each lesson gives you an opportunity to create a cute craft with the techniques learned. I was so excited to be able to use my new Silhouette Cameo 2.
I am in the middle of Alexis Middleton’s tutorial “Silhouette Savy: Venture into Vinyl”. Alexis is teaching how to use vinyl on all types of media. I recently put a vinyl decal on my truck with instruction I learned from her video. Alexis’ lesson plan includes “Intro to vinyl”, “Adhesive vinyl: First cuts and Next Steps”, “Heat Transfer Vinyl: First Cuts and Next Steps”, and “Vinyl Stencils”. I am especially excited about learning the vinyl stencil techniques because I’m in the process of repainting and decorating my master bedroom. Woot!
You can sign up for a free account on Craftsy and save all sorts of ideas to your favorites box. I have quilting patterns, sewing patterns, and a photography class saved in favorites. Craftsy has sales often on classes so it is affordable to take as many as you want. When I finish one lesson, I move on to the next. I am also excited about taking more cake decorating classes. I took several “Wilton Cake Decorating Method” classes in St George, Utah last fall. Now I can take them from Craftsy.
So get on over to Craftsy and get your groove on with a new creative outlet. It makes you feel great to create something beautiful or useful.
